Fall Grad Research Assistant Job
The Pratt Dye Garden seeks a First Year Graduate Research Assistant to join our Garden Crew in an archival, research and management position (10-15 hrs per week); this candidate is encouraged to remain in the position through Fall 2024.
GRAD RESEARCH ASSISTANT ROLE:
Immerse themselves in learning about the garden operations and natural dye plants during the Fall 23 season by trailing current Garden Crew during 2 shifts per week and researching our website, lab and resources.
Attend mandatory all-crew weekly 1 hour meetings via Zoom, this time is used for review and general information sharing.
Regularly update the Garden’s website (Google Sites) with news, events, resources and blog posts. Update digital version of swatch book for website.
Help maintain digital archive of photo documentation (Google Drive) and work documents and resources (Google Drive and Miro)
Work with Faculty leads and Garden Crew to plan, coordinate, and staff in-person workshops at the garden
Assist in planning Spring 2024 planting
Develop a self motivated Independent Project, mentored by faculty leads that:
benefits the garden
aligns with the assistants existing studies (workshops, community outreach, external grant funded projects etc).
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS (preferred):
Basic knowledge of natural dyeing
Basic knowledge of gardening
Knowledge of Google Suite (including Drive and Sites)
Basic knowledge of Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Indesign)
