Paint Making Summer 2023
From May to August two of our summer crew members dedicated time to an independent project surrounding paint making. The two crew members utilized lake pigments processed from dye baths made from our own garden plants and found botanicals. They also created fresh lake pigments that reflected the plants growing in our garden as of Summer 2023. The team's goal was to explore paint making; including different paint mediums, ratios, "recipes", and pigment behaviors. Below are their discoveries and processes for each painting medium, including recipes and notes.
